Description
Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an anti-inflammatory cytokine belonging to the class-2 cytokine family. It plays a crucial role in regulating immune responses and controlling inflammation. IL-10 suppresses production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12, IFN-γ and TNF-α.
IL-10 is primarily produced by activated T cell, especially Th2 cells, but is also secreted by B cells, monocytes and macrophages.
