Description

Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein growth factor produced primarily by the kidneys in response to hypoxia or anemia. Once released into the bloodstream, it targets erythroid progenitor cells in the bone marrow to stimulate red blood cell production (erythropoiesis). EPO plays a critical role in maintaining adequate oxygen delivery to tissue and organs.
