Description
Interleukin 12 (IL-12), also referred as IL-12p70, is a pro-inflammatory cytokine with a molecular weight of 70 kDa. It is composed of two subunits: IL-12p35 (35 kDa) and IL-12p40 (40 kDa). It plays a role in the immune response by inducing the differentiation of naive CD4 T cells into Th1 cells and activating natural killer (NK) cells. IL-12 is primarily produced by activated antigen-presenting cells (APC), including dendritic cells, macrophages, monocytes and B cells.
