Description
The 20C2 monoclonal antibody is a highly specific antibody for the detection and characterization of human IL-12p70. It is suitable for a range of immunological applications, including ELISA, ELISPOT, Western blotting, and flow cytometric analysis, enabling the identification and enumeration of IL-12 p70 producing cells. In addition, the 20C2 antibody has been reported to exhibit neutralizing activity of the intact IL-12p70 heterodimer, while showing no activity to the IL-12 subunits. It has also been demonstrated to block IL-12 receptor binding and inhibits IL-12-mediated biologic activity in functional assays.
Analyte information
Description
Interleukin-12 (IL-12), also referred as IL-12p70, is a pro-inflammatory cytokine with a molecular weight of 70 kDa. It is composed of two subunits: IL-12p35 (35 kDa) and IL-12p40 (40 kDa). It plays a role in the immune response by inducing the differentiation of naive CD4 T cells into Th1 cells and activating natural killer (NK) cells. IL-12 is primarily produced by activated antigen-presenting cells (APC), including dendritic cells, macrophages, monocytes and B cells.
