Description
MD-2 is a monoclonal antibody specific for human IFN-γ that recognizes both natural and recombinant IFN-γ with high affinity. The antibody is non-neutralizing in antiviral bioassays and is suitable for ELISA assays. No reactivity has been observed with mouse or rat IFN-γ, human IFN-α, or human IFN-ß.
Description
IFN-γ is a potent immune regulating cytokine that plays a central role in activating the body’s defense against infections and malignant cells. By enhancing antigen presentation and boosting the activity of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells, IFN-γ drives strong antiviral and anti tumor responses. It is primarily produced by activated T helper 1 (Th1) cells, cytotoxic T cells, γδ T cells, NK cells, and natural killer T (NKT) cells, making it a key indicator of cellular immune activation in research and diagnostic applications.
